February is the month of love, as we all know! There a lot of things I love, travelling being one of them! I haven’t been lucky enough to travel overseas (excepting Mauritius when I was like 5 so I don’t remember much), but I have been able to see a lot of this country I call home. And as February comes along we all start thinking of places to go to celebrate our love. The good news is that even if you can’t afford a trip to Paris or Bali, South Africa has some amazing, romantic destinations as well.

Romantic Cities In SA

This city is full of love. It’s a warm and welcoming environment, full of sugar, spice and everything nice. Durban has the most amazing sunrises, and nothing beats an early morning coffee on the beach. If you aren’t early risers, a walk along the beach promenade is romantic at any time of the day. While you’re on the promenade you could enjoy a bike ride with one of the rented bikes.  Or find a rickshaw and enjoy a trip around the beachfront as you sit and stare into each other’s eyes. uShaka Marine World gives you the opportunity to go through the aquarium and see all the sea creatures, as well have a splashing time in the water park. The lazy river is the best way to get to know your date as you float by the seal, penguin and shark tanks. There’s also the Botanical Gardens where you can enjoy a picnic, and if you’re lucky enough, a concert as well. An even more relaxing romantic idea is simply chilling at one of Durban’s Dams. These are great spots for some quiet, peaceful quality time with your love.

Cape Town

Ah, the mother city. The list of romantic things to do in Cape Town never seems to end. Whether you enjoy a wine tasting tour on one of the many wine farms, or a trip up to the top of Table Mountain in the cable car, this city has something for all. The summer months in the city allow you special treats, like the Galileo Open Air Cinema, which gives you a long list of movies, from classic to cheesy and everything in between, these are all shown outside while you and your love get to cuddle under the stars. Another fantastic way to spend a romantic day is a concert in Kirstenbosch Gardens, although these are mainly on Sundays, but even without the concert Kirstenbosch gardens offers a whimsical day out. The V&A waterfront is a favourite among locals and tourists alike, offering food for every pallet, many live bands throughout the restaurants and the outdoor amphitheatre. Along the harbour there are boat rides and helicopter rides available, nothing screams romance like a sunset champagne cruise. You could go for the adventurous romantic options and take a hike up signal hill or Lion’s Head, or do some paragliding around the city. Sun-downer cocktails overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with Robbin Island in the distance is the most romantic way to end off an adventurous date day. Check out Flights to Cape Town

One of the most romantic places I found in Joburg was Monte Casino. I absolutely love walking through and enjoying the artistic décor. My favourite place inside is Skoobs, the book store, and if you happen to be there while the piano is playing you have yourself a deep, intellectual, culturally rich date surrounded by books and drinking the best coffee in Joburg! However, if your date doesn’t find books as romantic as I do, there’s also fun things like bowling which is always a winner! You won’t run out of options on where to eat, and the cinema is so comfy and luxurious. Or you could have some old-school fun in the arcade. You can also check out the bird park, or take a ride in the hot air balloon for a spectacular view.

  • Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

I also want to improve SEO of my website. Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve:
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Hope to hear from you soon.

Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?

    Jan Zac
